Partner: HBK Essen
Our first Collaboration with our Partners at Hochschule der bildenden Künste Essen (HBK Essen), we organized a digital art academy for twenty artists in our multipurpose Lab in downtown Essen.
Divided in two groups, we hosted new talents, who never worked in digital arts in our Ready VR Artists! Bootcamp. In one week we took our guests on a journey through 3D printing, Video Mapping, Virtual Reality painting and sculpting.
Our coach Erik was leading them through the setup process and guided the from simple polygon creation to more complex VR painting and even animation.
The second class, VR PRO ART CREATION was hosting alumni and bachelor students from HBK as well as our international wild card recipient: Sofia Mellino!
In the course of just one week we created a stunning array of artworks, generative video game worlds, video mapped skin replicas from a 3d printer, and an interactive, multiplayer spatial audio experience for up to eight participants.
The results were shown in a two day exhibition at the beautiful campus of HBK in Essen Kupferdreh, highlighting the exciting new ways of artistic expression and introducing the communities of HBK and Future Campus Ruhr. It was only the first success story in a cooperation that is entering its 5th year in 2024. This project sparked many exciting new projects, and connected two networks of artists.
