When people ask me what I do, I like to describe myself as a universal dilettante, like Baltasar Matzbach, the private detective in Gisbert Haef's crime novels. Many people find the term negative, but I like it. I can't do anything perfectly, but I know an awful lot about an awful lot of things to a greater or lesser extent.
